A Bit About Me
I completed my Master of Social Science (Professional Counselling) at Swinburne University in Melbourne in 2008. Additionally, I obtained a Specialist Certificate in Palliative Care from the University of Melbourne in 2010. With an extensive counselling background since 2000, I have actively worked with diverse individuals and groups. My counselling experience spans across schools, churches, high-risk youth, prison inmates, and individuals coping with both physical and mental health difficulties ranging from addiction to terminal illnesses. I enjoy working with children, youth and adults patients. I am trained in different approaches and therapy modalities, and use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy, Systemic Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Erikonian Approaches including Hypnosis, Choice Theory and Reality Therapy and Creative Arts Therapy in my work with clients. I have also provided support to caregivers and facilitated grief and bereavement counselling for families following the loss of their loved ones.
In addition to my counselling practice, I have served as a part-time lecturer at the Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, from 2014 until April 2018. This opportunity allowed me to merge my clinical experience with teaching, further enriching my professional journey. I am also a registered supervisor for counsellors and have supervised many counsellors in their professional practice. I am dedicated to providing compassionate counseling services, and I look forward to supporting you on your personal growth and healing journey.
