A Bit About Me
I graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2013 with a Master’s degree in Social Work. Subsequently, I furthered my studies in the area of Sexual Health, obtaining the Sex Therapist certificate from the University of Michigan, USA. I am also a Registered Social Worker with the Singapore Association of Social Workers (SASW) and a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapist (AASECT).
I have more than 10 years of experiences working in the social and healthcare sectors. I have been supporting individuals, families, groups and healthcare professionals facing grief, loss and bereavement concerns, dementia care and caregivers support, and also care reintegration of ex-offenders. Relocated from Hong Kong, I am able to understand the practical and emotional challenges faced by foreigners living in Singapore and hence my enagaement in supporting the expatriates community in Singapore has been highly successful. I am able to effectively and efficiently engage and communicate with my clients, and I uphold their dignity and self-worth at all times.
In my engagements, I adopt the systemic, collaborative and narrative therapy approaches as I believe in the need to support an individual or family in the context of their realities and aligned with their values and principles in life. In particular, I adopt a trauma-informed sex-positive approach when supporting clients in the area of Sexual Health. I am able to converse fluently in Mandarin, English and Cantonese.
